How to Use Sunday Nudge
Everything happens over text message. There's also an optional web dashboard for managing reminders and settings.
Part 1
The Basics
1. Getting Started
When your number is added to Sunday Nudge, you'll receive a text asking for your consent. Reply YES to activate your account. Until you reply YES, no reminders will be sent to you.
2. Setting a Reminder
Just text naturally — no special format required.
- –Call Joe Tuesday 2pm
- –Dentist appointment March 12 at 10am
- –Pick up kids Friday at 3:30pm
- –Team meeting tomorrow at 9am
- –Remind me 30 minutes before my 3pm call with Sarah
Sunday Nudge saves it immediately and confirms what it understood:
If something saved incorrectly, reply UNDO to cancel it. If Sunday Nudge couldn't understand your message it will ask follow-up questions to get the details it needs — and confirm before saving.
3. When Your Reminder Fires
At the scheduled time you'll receive a text like this:
If you don't reply, Sunday Nudge will send one follow-up about 30 minutes later as a nudge — just in case you missed it.
4. Recurring Reminders
Add a recurrence phrase to your message to set up a repeating reminder.
Simple patterns:
- –Take vitamins every day at 8am
- –Team standup every week Monday at 9am
- –Pay rent every month on the 1st at 10am
- –Dad's birthday every year March 12 at noon
Specific days of the week:
- –Take vitamins every weekday at 8am
- –Go to the gym every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7am
- –Check in with team every Tuesday and Thursday at 9am
The saved confirmation shows the recurrence so you can verify — reply UNDO if anything looks wrong:
After each reminder fires, Sunday Nudge automatically schedules the next occurrence. To stop a recurring reminder, use DELETE to cancel the next upcoming occurrence — that stops the chain.
5. Commands
You can send these any time:

More Ways to Use It
6. Editing or Rescheduling a Reminder
Use MOVE to reschedule a reminder by name. Sunday Nudge will find it and ask you to confirm the change.
You can also change the recurrence of a reminder the same way:
If the time you specify has already passed today, Sunday Nudge automatically schedules it for tomorrow at that time.
7. Deleting an Upcoming Reminder
Text DELETE to remove a reminder before it fires. The app will show your upcoming reminders as a numbered list — reply with the number to remove it.
8. Adding Notes to Reminders
Add a note to any reminder by including a pipe character | followed by your note. The pipe is intentional — it's a deliberate separator that keeps notes clearly distinct from the reminder title, even on mobile.
- –Call Joe Tuesday 2pm | ask about the contract renewal
- –Dentist March 12 10am | bring insurance card
- –Team standup every Monday 9am | check on sprint progress
The note is shown in the saved confirmation so you can verify it — reply UNDO if anything looks wrong:
When the reminder fires, the note appears below the reminder — clearly separated so it catches your eye:
Notes are visible in your dashboard too. They're great for context you'll want when the reminder fires — a talking point, a detail to look up, or a follow-up action.
9. Timezone, Quiet Hours & Pause
Setting your timezone
Your timezone defaults to Eastern. If you're in a different zone, text TIMEZONE followed by your zone name:
- –TIMEZONE Central
- –TIMEZONE Pacific
- –TIMEZONE Mountain
- –TIMEZONE America/Chicago
Quiet hours
Don't want reminders waking you up? Set a quiet window and Sunday Nudge will hold any reminders that fall inside it and send them when the window ends.
- –QUIET 10pm-7am
- –QUIET 11pm-8am
Text QUIET OFF to clear quiet hours. You can also set quiet hours from the web dashboard.
Pausing reminders
Going on vacation or just need a break? Text PAUSE to suspend all reminder sends until a date or for a set number of days. Your reminders stay scheduled — they just won't fire until you're back.
- –PAUSE until March 20
- –PAUSE 7 days
- –PAUSE until April 1 2026
10. Sunday Check-in
Every Sunday morning, Sunday Nudge sends you a short check-in asking what you'd like on your radar for the week. It's an easy habit to make sure nothing important slips through.
If you don't respond to the check-in, you'll get one gentle follow-up a bit later. You can also SNOOZE the check-in if you're not ready yet.
The check-in arrives at 9am by default. You can change the delivery time from the web dashboard under Sunday Check-in Time.
11. Web Dashboard
Sunday Nudge has an optional web dashboard at sundaynudge.com/dashboard. Text WEB, APP, or LOGIN to get a direct link sent to your phone.
From the dashboard you can:
- –Create new reminders using a form instead of texting
- –Edit or reschedule any upcoming reminder
- –View your reminder history
- –Set quiet hours so reminders are held during sleep or focus time
- –Pause reminders for a trip or break, and resume when you're back
- –Change the time your Sunday check-in arrives
- –Update your timezone
12. Tips
- –Relative dates work: "tomorrow," "next Tuesday," "this Friday"
- –Specific dates work: "March 12," "April 3rd at 2pm"
- –Lead times work: "remind me 30 minutes before my 3pm meeting" fires the reminder at 2:30pm
- –To be reminded at a specific time, just say that time: "Call Joe at 3pm" fires the reminder at 3pm
- –If Sunday Nudge can't tell whether you mean AM or PM, it will ask before saving
- –Conversations time out after 20 minutes — if you start scheduling something and walk away, just start over with a new message
- –Your timezone defaults to Eastern — text TIMEZONE followed by your zone if you're elsewhere
